Ballina Shire council will wait for a ruling from the Australian Media and Communication Authority before deciding whether to take legal action against Optus over a planned telecommunication tower in Basalt court.
Concerned residents packed the council chambers today hoping for a resolution to the ongoing David and Goliath battle.
While council has sought legal advice against Optus, it will look at getting a second opinion before making any more decisions.
“The General Manager did say he was prepared to investigate a more specialist legal level.”
Residents say they will not give up their fight against the tower.
