MILLION PAWS WALK GETS TAILS WAGGING AT GOSFORD

With tails wagging, hundreds of pampered pooches took part in the annual Million Paws Walk at Gosford today.

Leading the way for the sixth year in a row was a four legged friend of a different kind.

Benny the donkey was also joined by Wilbur the Pig, as well as a tutu-wearing terrier.

“Mostly I would love to have all of these dogs. I love doggies!”

The RSPCA hopes to raise around $20,000 for stray and injured animals.

“Oh definitely anything to raise money for the RSPCA is a good cause.”

“Oh they need all the help they can get. They don’t get enough support.”

  1. It was a great day for a great cause, I think us two legged variety had just as much fun as the four legged. Will be there with bells on again next year.

  2. Unfortunately the comments in the report show just how successful RSPCA has been in promoting a false image to a well-meaning public..

“They don’t get enough support”? RSPCA NSW makes $10 million plus profits each year, has over $40 million in its cash and share portfolio yet kills over 50% of its intake. (all from RSPCA’s own figures).

The protests by the animal welfare community against RSPCA in Morpeth and in Adelaide today are just the start of a counter-movement against an organisation whose actions do not live up to its own PR.
