To football and in the women’s premier league there were wins today for Broadmeadow, Merewether and Charlestown.
The Magic dominated possession in the first half, captain Ashley Wilson with a great effort which crashed off the bar.
Rebecca Miller kept the Phoenix in the hunt with a great save off Gemma Simon’s header.
But she was powerless to stop Stacey Day’s free kick which dropped over the line.
