The Tinkler Sporting group has confirmed Wayne Bennett will coach the Newcastle Knights on a four year deal beginning in 2012.
The seven time premiership winning coach says his decision to take over the reigns was based on the vision and passion of the club, which was recently taken over by mining magnate, Nathan Tinkler.
Bennett says he hopes current Knights coach Rick Stone, will remain at the club and work with him.
