BRINDABELLA AIRLINES GOES INTO RECEIVERSHIP

Regional airline Brindabella has gone into receivership, suspending all services indefinitely.

The move comes after the carrier, which flies to and from Newcastle, had eight of its 10 planes grounded by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for maintenance reviews two days ago.

Receiver, KordaMentha, has called for immediate expressions of interest in the sale of the business, and says it’s in urgent discussions with authorities regarding replacement services.

Brindabella employs 140 people – there’s no immediate word on their future.
