Coffs Harbour police are hoping an alcohol ban in all reserves and parks on New Year’s Eve and Australia Day will help curb anti-social behaviour.

  2. Australia Day is when we Australians celebrate our freedom and democracy a Right Fought For in two world wars by Australians.
What is more traditional than to go down to the beach, have a BBQ.game of cricket/footy and a couple of Beers?
However it seems because of the actions of a small minority the Majority of Proud Australians who wish to carry on this tradition are Now treated as criminals.
Why can’t the Police weed out and charge the clowns who try to spoil our AusDay?
Is it not the Job the Police are PAID for? Obviously this does not collect revenue.
Australia Day 2011 is the day Democracy Dies in Coffs Harbour.
    Islam would be proud!

  3. One of the problems I see is that so many people use Australia day as an excuse to get drunk & make a moron of themselves…. wearing an Australian Flag, NOT a day to celebrate what’s good about this country. They do the same thing at other times as well. St Patricks day… get drunk wearing something green. Christmas… get drunk & say merry xmas a lot, New Year…get drunk & yell Happy New Year. In fact no matter what the ocassion, all you need to do is don the appropriate bit of clothing or give the right greeting…. and get drunk. This is NOT what our grandfathers defended in 2 World Wars. Oh and by the way, with the exception of the Turks in WW1, the Muslims were on our side.
