Police believe a BMW collided with a Hyundai, in the lead up to a fatal crash on the New South Wales Mid North Coast yesterday.
Initial inquiries suggest the Hyundai was making a right hand turn from the Lakes Way onto the northbound lanes of the Pacific Highway, when it was struck by the other car.
Emergency services arrived at the scene at Buladelah at about 10.30am and attempted to treat the 82-year-old man, but he died at the scene.
The 27-year-old female driver of the BMW was treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
