HUGHES SECOND ONLY TO BRADMAN

Macksville’s Phillip Hughes is continuing to set cricketing records scoring more than 3880 runs in his first 40 first-class innings.

Hughes is now second to Donald Bradman, sitting ahead of Bill Woodfill and Matthew Hayden.

Since making his debut for the Blues in 2007, Hughes has gone on to play test cricket against South Africa, England and more recently New Zealand.

On the fifth day of the first test against the Kiwis this week, he piled on 86 runs off just 75 balls to lead Australia to victory.
