Police have begun a murder investigation after a man’s body was found in a shallow grave in Lake Macquarie.
A walker apparently made the grim discovery in bushland at Freeman’s Waterhole yesterday afternoon.
A post mortem will be carried out on the body.
Police say it’s too early to tell how the long the remains have been there for.
