NRL STAR WILL BE NO-SHOW AT AFL COMMUNITY CAMP

The Gold Coast Football Club will be minus former NRL star, Karmichael Hunt, when it visits the Northern Rivers next week.

The club says the region was its first pick for the community camp.

  1. Just goes to show that the AFL aren’t serious about their push to make AFL completely dominant Australia wide, you would think that the Gold Coast would be encouraging their “star recruit” to attend but apparently not so I cannot see too many people turning up to this community camp

  2. Julie, as the story mentions, Carmichael Hunt has overseas committments until May; also, the team is more than one player. Those who follow AFL in this area will appreciate and welcome the GCFC for coming down here. As the story stated, they could have gone to many other areas, but undeniably AFL is growing in this region, particularly at a junior level, so they’ve chosen to come to the Northern Rivers.
    Good on them.
