HUNTER VENUES TOP MOST VIOLENT LIST
Two Hunter venues have made the state’s most violent list.
Finnegans Pub registered 31 assaults in 2011, while Fanny’s Nightclub recorded 30.
It, along with 31 other New South Wales licensed premises, will now be subjected to special restrictions.
The new measures include a 2am lockout, ceasing alcohol service 30 minutes prior to closing and a limit of four alcoholic drinks per customer per order after midnight.
24 venues recorded up to 18 violent incidents in a year to be classified as Level 2 premises.
They include The Woodport Inn at Erina, Beachcomber Resort and Conference Centre, Newcastle’s King Street Hotel, Cambridge Hotel and Queens Wharf Brewery Hotel, Tamworth’s Imperial Hotel, Woody’s Surf Shack at Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour Hotel and the Royal Hotel at Taree.
While the Belmore Hotel at Maitland, the Central Coast Hotel, Gunnedah Hotel and Taree’s Victoria Hotel have been removed from the list.
