GLENWORTH VALLEY TRANSFORMED INTO 17TH CENTURY

More than 600 members of a medieval society have gathered at Glennworth Valley for a six day event, in which they re-enact life in the 17th century.

Although the event has been running for a quarter of a century, it’s only the second time the Central Coast has played host.

  1. As one of the original members of the SCA, way back in the dim, dim past (pre-Internet), I enjoyed the activities of this society. I am still in contact with friends I made then. I am delighted to see the spirit of the SCA being maintained and improved upon. It’s wonderful to see the next generation of children growing up in this atmosphere. I may no longer be a practicing member but my memories remain vivid, Well done and Good Luck.

  2. @Cornyvonbeck: Perhaps it is you who needs to get a life as you seem to lack the understanding of how to have fun. Is “fun” a foreign concept for you, now that you have obviously matured past childish things?

  3. It is great to see our hobby on TV. When we went to Taree after the event my parent’s friends told us they had seen it. Being a member of the SCA is the most enjoyable thing I do, wrapped in history and role playing. We spend most of our time and extra money on this. Sorry Cornyvonbec but if growng up means not having this fun, I wish to never grow up.

  4. We had this group hold thier play thing in our local park. after chasing our kids out of the park saying that thier pushbikes etc was ruining the theme for them. 2 min later i saw one chatting on a mobile phone…..who knew that they had phones back then…..
