SWIMMER’S FAMILY BEIJING BOUND

While our Olympians are training hard in preparation for the Beijing Games, so are their relatives and friends. The family of Point Clare swimmer Kirk Palmer is getting ready to fly to China to cheer on the 22 year old, but the trip will be far from a holiday. For Palmer, competing in his first Olympics, is a dream come true. For dad Ian, mum Gail and sister Crystal, it’s an amazing achievement. But while he was hard in training from the age of eight, behind the scenes, Gail was right there with him.
Kirk will be competing in the four by 100 and four by 200 metres freestyle relay events at Beijing.
