UMINA WOMAN LOSES 28 DEMERIT POINTS DURING TRAFFIC STOP

A woman from the Central Coast has lost 28 demerit points at once, after she was pulled over on the M1 Motorway on Monday.

Officers stopped a Holden Captiva at Ourimbah at around 5 o’clock in the afternoon, to speak to a 24-year-old woman who they say had been using her phone while driving.

During the stop, they claim they noticed three young children, aged five, three and one in the back seat – two, incorrectly restrained.

A further check of the car seats allegedly revealed none of them were properly anchored to the vehicle.

Family and Community Services has been notified, while the Umina woman was issued four infringement notices and fined $1348.
