WOMAN TO SPEND 18 MONTHS BEHIND BARS OVER RIXON DEATH

One of the women charged in relation to the murder of slain Tamworth police officer David Rixon will spend at least 18 months behind bars.

29-year-old Monica Sampson appeared before Tamworth District Court today, charged with hindering the discovery of evidence.

She was sentenced to three years in prison, with a non-parole period of 18 months.

Senior Constable Rixon was gunned down while conducting a routine traffic stop in March this year.
