HIGH DRAMA ON SMALL SEAS IN CHINA

The Coffs Coast’s Harley Ingleby is still in the hunt for a third title after advancing to round 4 of the World Longboard Championship at Wanning in China. Ingleby trailed French surfer Antoinne Delpero for the first half of his third round, and with minutes to go, watched his rival surf his way back into the lead. With the clock ticking the Emerald Beach local kept his mettle, nailing this ride to regain the lead.

SURF REPORT: JULY 1, 2016

Hi there, thanks for logging on, Lobby here, sitting in for Gav. There’s been some quality waves around this week from the Central Coast to the Gold Coast but it all dropped off to nothing today, with flat city for most of the coast. It’s not good news for the weekend if you’re on the gold coast with the swell remaining very small – ideal for the grommies. The good news is there’s a spike in swell on the way for the Central Coast and Hunter overnight, pushing through to the Mid North and North Coasts later on Saturday. It’s an East South Easterly swell in the 2 to 4 foot range with a period of about 9 seconds, so it’ll deliver some nice ridable waves. DECEPTIVELY POWERFUL SURF FORECAST

Surfers, swimmers and boaties are being urged to stay cautious out on the water, with deceptively powerful surf conditions predicted to last until early tomorrow morning. South-facing beaches will cop the brunt, with swell of around three metres anticipated in some parts. Conditions are expected to ease later in the day.
