A Burleigh Waters tattoo parlour was firebombed early this morning causing extensive damage.
Police say two men smashed the front window, threw fuel inside and ignited it.
Fire crews had to break their way in to douse the flames.
While the store was closed at the time, the attack very nearly became a tragedy, with residents apartments above the complex engulfed in thick smoke.
“Huge bang, looked out my bedroom window, smoke everywhere, so I flew down here, the girl from over here was trying to put it out and the firies and everybody came”
Thousands of dollars worth of equipment have been damaged.
