OKON RESIGNS FROM CENTRAL COAST MARINERS

Central Coast Mariners coach Paul Okon has resigned from the A-League club, effective immediately. It comes after the Mariners, who sit second last on the ladder, were defeated 5-2 by Melbourne Victory on Sunday. Okon’s assistant Ivan Jolic, has also left the club, with National Youth League head coach Wayne O’Sullivan appointed as caretaker coach.

MARLINS ONE WIN AWAY FROM TITLE

The Central Coast has extended its golden run of form with an impressive win in Blacktown last night. The Marlins opened the NSW State League Championship Series in fine fashion against Macarthur. They snatched game one 4-3 in the 10th innings… Shaun Smith’s team is back in action on Saturday. The Marlins are now only one win away from Grand Final success, and another first-grade title.

MARINERS TAKE ON GLORY IN THE WEST TONIGHT

The Mariners are back in A-League action in Perth tonight, after a week off with the league’s split round. The yellow and navy will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins following their 1-0 victory over Wellington, a fortnight ago.
