Coffs Harbour Airport will undergo a major upgrade next year.
The state government has given council $5.1 million for the project.
The apron will be re-surfaced, the departure lounge extended on the northern side of the terminal, and the toilets refurbished.
“This is something they’re going to have to do whilst the airport is still being fully utilised so it’s going to be a bit tricky I guess for passengers in the short term but in the long term, it’s going to be a great asset,” said Coffs Harbour MP Andrew Fraser.
Meanwhile, Taree Airport will receive an additional $405,000 on top of the previous 3-million, for runway improvements and new lighting.
