UK MAN CHARGED WITH NEGLIGENT DRIVING CAUSING DEATH
A man from the UK will face court after being involved in a car crash that claimed the life of a teenager on the Mid North Coast.
A Toyota Prado 4WD and a Mitsubishi van collided on the Pacific Highway at Herons Creek, 30km south of Port Macquarie at around 11am yesterday.
A passenger in the 4WD, a 16-year-old girl, died when the vehicle rolled several times.
Six other people in the Prado – aged between 40 and 6 – were taken to hospital, two with severe fractures.
The 20-year-old male driver of the van was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital as a precaution and mandatory testing.
He has now been charged with not give way, and negligent driving causing death.
A passenger in the van, also aged 20, didn’t require medical treatment.
