BOIL ALERT LIFTED FOR TAMBAR SPRINGS WATER
Tambar Springs residents are advised that they no longer have to boil their drinking water before consumption.
The alert was raised last week after E. coli was found in the town’s water supply, which if consumed untreated, could lead to gastrointestinal illnesses.
Gunnedah Shire Council says it was detected during a routine water sample, after a breakdown of the chlorine injector – which has now been repaired.
Further testing didn’t show any presence of the bacteria.
