An investigation will take place into the emergency landing of a BAE systems flight training plane at Tamworth airport yesterday.
“We will do our own investigation, we’re waiting on atsb, as well as casa for their guidance, we’ve reported the incident to them, so we’re just waiting for their reply to see what their requirements will be.”
Just after 3:30 yesterday afternoon, the two qualified pilots on board, reported having difficulties with their front landing gear.
They landed successfully just before 6pm.
“I can assure you it’s not that easy, there’s a bit of work that goes into it, but they were level-headed, cool, they maintained their cool throughout, and the end result is quite obvious.”
The two pilots were on a routine maintenance flight.
