Once again there is very little cloud across the nation. Isolated coastal showers for the north NSW and QLD coasts will come in late behind a weak southerly change. GAV’S SURF: SUMMER NOT GIVING UP

Summer won’t give up. There’s plenty of swell around for the weekend, especially for the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales, but the winds will be onshore causing some bumps. The Mid North Coast will be home to some classic beach weather, feeling a lot more like summer with morning offshore winds and a moderate swell. Newcastle and the Central Coast will also enjoy morning offshore winds but the swell will not be as big. The pick will be get in before the lunch time high tide.

Cyclone Iris will weaken further and remain offshore, while there is very little cloud across the nation. Isolated coastal showers for Queensland will ease, with most of the nation set to experience another dry day. Some incredible April weather is on the way this weekend, and is set to continue all next week. Summer like conditions are on the way.

GAV’S WEATHER: SHOWERS SET TO CLEAR

Cyclone Iris will grow in strength, while a southerly change has produced some showers for the Mid North Coast. Isolated coastal showers will continue for Northern New South Wales and South East Queensland. Most of the nation will experience another dry day, with more fine warm to hot weather inland across New South Wales. East of the divide expect another partly cloudy day with the isolated showers clearing for the remainder of the week.

GAV’S WEATHER: COASTAL SHOWERS SET TO RETURN

Cyclone Iris is dancing around off the north QLD coast, while a southerly change is set to produce some wet weather along the NSW coast. The low in the Coral Sea has reformed into Cyclone Iris and will contribute to isolated coastal showers for Northern NSW and SE QLD. Most of the nation will experience another dry day tomorrow, apart from the east coast.

GAV’S WEATHER: EASTER FORECAST

There’s hardly any cloud to speak of across the country, with some small isolated coastal showers for Northern NSW and South East QLD. The low in the Coral sea is set to be slow moving as it tracks back to the north, with most of the nation set to experience another dry day. There’s a weak southerly that will move in across the Central Coast and Newcastle region, mostly producing cloud with the chance of showers minimal. Apart from a few drops across the Northern Rivers and the Gold Coast, it will be a fine Easter long weekend.

GAV’S WEATHER: GOOD FORECAST IN LEAD UP TO EASTER

Cyclone Nora continues to weaken but is set to make a comeback in the Gulf, while more wet weather is headed for the Queensland coast. It will remain fine inland and for the Greater Hunter, with the North Coast and south east Queensland set to see more isolated shower activity as onshore winds continue. Easter is set to be mostly fine, with only the small risk of a few small isolated showers.

GAV’S SURF: NORTHERN CORNERS THE PICK

It’s been an epic week of waves north of the east coast rain event, with the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales coast dishing up plenty for those heading out for a surf. Looking ahead to the up and coming weekend, and while there is still plenty of swell around the building north easterly winds will help clean up the line-up. The northern corners will be the best place to be with the swell coming in straight from the east.

GAV’S WEATHER: HEAVY FLOODING RAIN EXPECTED

A coastal rain event is now developing, and will deliver heavy rain to the east coast with the main area of concern between the Central Coast and Coffs Coast. Heavy flooding rain is now expected from Newcastle to Port Macquarie, with the Manning also under major threat. Very heavy rain causing flooding is expected for the Newcastle region from tonight, extending north through tomorrow. This system will continue until Friday.
