REGISTRATIONS OF INTEREST OPEN FOR NEW ENGLAND RENEWABLE ENERGY ZONE

Registrations of Interest have officially opened for the New England Renewable Energy Zone.

The state government has allocated 8,000 megawatts of power to the zone – including wind, hydro and solar projects.

It says developers can now put in their project applications and provide information on estimated investment values, the location and project type.

Any approved projects will need to work alongside the community and protect agricultural land.

“So that we can actually protect community concern, community interest but make sure that we take advantage of those huge economic opportunities that renewables present.”
