22-YEAR-OLD MAN CHARGED WITH INJURING A BABY
A man’s been charged with injuring a baby in his care in the state’s far north earlier this year.
Police were alerted on May 1, when a two-month-old boy was taken to Lismore Base Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He’d suffered significant head trauma and had to be transferred to Queensland Children’s Hospital.
Following investigations, a 22-year-old man – known to the boy – was arrested yesterday at a Casino home.
He’s been charged with inflicting reckless, grievous bodily harm and refused bail.
The boy has since been released from hospital.
