Teens charged after pursuit involving allegedly stolen vehicle

Three teens have been charged after a pursuit involving an allegedly stolen vehicle from Lambton overnight.

Police attempted to stop a Audi A6 sedan around 3am this morning on Glebe Road, when the vehicle allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated, continuing towards Tomago where the vehicle came to a stop.

Following initial inquiries, officers established the vehicle was allegedly stolen from a home on Grainger Street, Lambton, a short time earlier.

The driver of the car, a 15-year-old boy, and his two passengers – another 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl – were arrested.

The male passenger was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today.

Both were granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Monday 15 April 2024.
