Police in the state’s Western Region have charged more than 150 people since the launch of Operation Regional Mongoose.
The ongoing high-visibility operation, which began Wednesday 27 September 2023, focusses on serious property-related crime predominately committed by young offenders.
To date, the operation has resulted in 153 people – including 109 juveniles – charged with more than 1400 offences, of those 198 were for breach of bail.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended a home in Gunnedah about 8pm on Sunday 17 March 2024, and arrested a 19-year-old man.
He was taken to Gunnedah Police Station and charged with breach of bail. He was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today.
