BELMONT COME UP SHORT TO HAMWICKS IN NEWCASTLE T20 TITLE

Hamilton-Wickham has claimed Newcastle cricket’s T20 title, thanks to a seven run win over Belmont this afternoon.

Hamwicks posted 6 for 128 from their 20 overs.

In reply, Belmont’s Sam Logan caused his own downfall off the bowling of Matt Webber.

Spinner Abe Gibson then did damage to the middle order, dismissing Greg Hunt caught and bowled, before forcing Marcus Hainsworth to edge one to the keeper.

Mark Littlewood tried to up the ante in the run chase with a six, but then Ray Cooper was caught in the deep, as Belmont came up short.
