The Tamworth family of freed Australian hostage Warren Rodwell has told of their relief after hearing he’d been released by Islamic terrorists in the Philippines.
After more than a year of uncertainty and fear, Mr Rodwell’s loved ones managed to buy his freedom with privately-funded ransom money.

The rebels conveniently renamed the ransom, “boarding and lodging” expenses. The innocent little wife, Miraflor Gutang, did NOT sell or raise any money herself. After Rodwell returned to Australia (without her), she kept the new house in Ipil, Mindanao and the cash that was in it. One can only guess she’s back online searching for a new foreign “Joe”.
