Premier sets up charity fund

For support to the victims of the Hunter Valley bus crash

A charity fund has been set up to offer support to the victims of the Hunter Valley wedding bus crash and their families, with $100,000 already raised through a NSW Government donation.

The money was allocated to the fund from the NSW Premier’s Discretionary Fund, which allows the premier to deliver money to support community projects.

The fund will be co-managed by the state government and Rotary, and will offer support to survivors, victims, and their immediate families amid warnings for people to be wary of fake fundraising sites circulating.

Ten people were killed when a bus travelling from a wedding overturned at a roundabout near Greta.

“When tragic events like this occur, it’s the Australian way to reach out and support one another,” Premier Chris Minns said.

Anybody who wishes to donate can do so online here.
