Kalyn Ponga fronts media

Kalyn Ponga has finally addressed the media six months on from a toilet cubicle controversy that sparked an NRL investigation in August last year.

Knights captain Ponga had, until Monday morning, been shielded from media duties since the incident but finally gave his version of events in front of the cameras.

The player describing the incident, which occurred at The Delaney Hotel in August, as the “most pivotal moment of his life”.

He maintains that night he was sick from something he’d eaten but claims he “shouldn’t have been out in the first place.”

He also stated he’d been given no medical advice not to drink alcohol following his concussions, although he had 3 head injuries in 6 weeks.
