Commitment on Forster-Tuncurry bridge project needed before Federal intervention

Commuting across the Forster-Tuncurry bridge can be a nightmare, so Federal MP Dr David Gillespie has promised to lobby the government for funding if MidCoast Council and the state government both commit to duplicating the bridge.

“The traffic flows and potential for a log jamming Forster from services to the south like the Manning Base Hospital,” Dr Gillespie said.

“Now is the time to get those plans, get some community consultation happening, get all departments working together,” Nationals candidate for Myall Lakes Tanya Thompson said.

Traffic management studies are currently being undertaken by Transport for NSW.
