A woman is in custody following a dramatic police pursuit through the Newcastle suburb of Hamilton this afternoon.
Officers – including detectives and the dog squad – tore through several streets surrounding the busy dining strip on Beaumont Street, just before four o’clock.
“This car came down the street, slammed on its brakes, pulled into the alleyway and as they were driving into the alleyway there was a lady hanging out the door, and when they stopped, they all just took off.”
It’s believed the chase was sparked by a traffic infringement.
