CHATHAM HIGH FOUR TURN HEADS AT STATE SCHOOL TABLE TENNIS TITLES

Four students from Chatham High School have turned a lunchtime hobby into a championship tilt.

Tyrone Byers, Braye Cochrane and brothers Tashiem and Tyler Abbott have returned from the state secondary school table tennis tournament.

Representing the Hunter region, the team placed ninth.

And took top Sydney sides to the limit… many with dedicated table tennis coaches.

The boys have promised to train harder for another shot next year.

Rob Douglas

Born and bred in the Manning Valley, Rob Douglas joined the Taree bureau in June 2021 after a short career in print media. He joined the Tamworth team in July 2023. Rob graduated from Charles Sturt University in Bathurst in 2016 with a sports journalism degree.
