GUNNEDAH SOLAR FARM DEEMED ‘APPROVABLE’

A proposed Photon solar farm in Gunnedah has been given the green light by the Department of Planning and Environment.
If the 150-megawatt farm goes ahead, it would power 48,000 homes, and provide 150 full-time construction jobs.
It would cover just over 300 hectares, nine kilometres outside town on Orange Grove Road.
The project will be reviewed by the Independent Planning Commission, and a public meeting will be held later this month.
