SEVERE WEATHER TO CONTINUE FOR NSW

Severe weather to continue across New South Wales, flood warnings remain in place.

2:45pm. The Bureau of Meteorology is warning of more heavy rainfall and thunderstorms for much of NSW.

The Bureau of Meteorology has numerous flood warnings current across eastern New South Wales, with warnings for severe weather, severe thunderstorms and hazardous surf also in place.

The BoM’s Dean Narramore said there is an east coast low developing over north-eastern NSW, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms.

The low is moving through the Mid North Coast and Hunter regions, and tonight and tomorrow it will “rapidly deepen”.

“That means we got increasing concerns from the Central Coast all the way down to the Illawarra area, extending well and land as well to the Blue Mountains, the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and the Sydney metropolitan area,” Mr Narramore said.

“Of particular concern are the already saturated catchments we have from the Hunter all the way down to the Hawkesbury-Nepean river and even in towards the Shoalhaven and Wollongong areas as well.”
