UNE TO BECOME HOME TO NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
The University of New England will soon be home to the North West’s first Natural History Museum as part of a $27-million federal government investment.
It will be constructed in the new Agriculture Education building, which is expected to be complete in March.
“The exhibits will include a five metre replica skeleton of a carnivorous Australian dinosaur, the original dinosaur was discovered near Winton in Queensland where it’s currently on display.”
A variety of items will be displayed for the first time, including a 70-kilogram meteorite found in Queensland.
“They capture the imagination of the young people, they also capture the imagination of the whole population because what you actually see, and what you will see at this museum, is a working museum.”
