ANYONE PART OF SEARCH FOR AJ REQUESTED TO GET A COVID-19 TEST

UPDATE – 5PM, 7/9/21:

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District statement:

“Two people at the Saint Shenouda Monastery, 8419 Putty Road, Putty have tested positive for COVID-19.

The people, who were volunteers working at the Monastery, left the venue on Saturday 4 September and are in isolation elsewhere.

No-one remaining at the Monastery has tested positive, but all are in isolation. The Monastery is not open to the public.

Persons attending the monastery for the purposes of the search for the missing child on a neighbouring property on 5 and 6 September had no interaction with the positive cases.

Saint Shenouda Monastery continues to assist NSW Health with contact tracing any volunteers and staff who were at the venue from 31 August to 3 September.”

NSW Health has requested everyone who helped in the search for AJ at the Putty property – which includes everyone from emergency services to family members, volunteers, and media – get tested and isolate until they receive a result, with a second test to be taken in five days.

It’s been confirmed there were people in attendance from Local Government Areas of Concern, with limited mask wearing and due to the nature of the search, being close proximity.

NSW Health has not confirmed if a positive COVID-19 case was at the property, and says the request is a precautionary measure.
