A man has died while surfing on the Coffs Coast at Mullaway Beach this morning.
Friends of the man, believed to be in his 70s, say he’d only just caught his first wave when he appeared to collapse off his surfboard just before 9am.
NBN News has been told they quickly pulled him unconscious from the water, before starting CPR until paramedics arrived.
Four NSW Ambulance crews rushed to the scene but the surfer couldn’t be revived.
