The New England Highway at Maitland is back open following lengthy traffic delays in this morning after a fuel tanker overturned.
Just before 3 o’clock the tanker carrying around 47 000 litres of fuel overturned, spilling the fuel across the highway.
The New England Highway at Maitland was closed in both directions.
The driver was not injured in the accident.

That roundabout was an accident waiting to happen. Trucks go too fast there when there is little traffic. And queue are huge during traffic. Now everyone in the area has to suffer.
