MAN STABBED IN FIGHT AT PORT MACQUARIE

A man has been stabbed in the back during a brawl on the Mid North Coast.

At around 6.20pm Sunday, two men were walking along Anderson Street, Port Macquarie when a vehicle pulled up alongside them.

A passenger allegedly stepped out and approached the men before a fight broke out.

One of the pedestrians – a 21-year-old man – assaulted and stabbed.

The unknown man took off.

Emergency services attended the incident where the injured man was treated by paramedics before being taken to Port Macquarie Hospital.

He was treated for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

A crime scene has been established and police are now investigating the circumstances around the incident.

They are appealing information from the public and are urging anyone that may have witnessed the scene to contact Port Macquarie Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
