2 MEN HOSPITALISED AFTER CAR TRAVELS WRONG WAY ON THE M1

A car travelling the wrong way has caused a head-on crash on the M1 near Tweed Heads.

A Mazda Sedan drove into on-coming southbound traffic and collided with a Volkswagen Golf at Clothiers Creek, around 8 o’clock last night.

Both vehicles’ drivers – a 67-year-old man, and a 21-year-old – were trapped for some time.

The men were freed and taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries.
