The state government is pushing ahead with plans for a new board to oversee the operation of Ausgrid Stadium and other venues in the Newcastle sporting precinct.
Newcastle MP Tim Owen is calling for nominations for the Hunter Local Venues Council.
It will guide development in the area, including plans for a transport link between the stadium and the District Park tennis courts.
