BUILDING A MORE DROUGHT RESILIENT NORTHERN NSW

Still recovering from one of its worst droughts in history, North West communities are set to benefit from a nationwide initiative to better prepare for future droughts.

David Littleproud today launching the first of eight Resilience Adoption and Innovation hubs in Toowoomba.

These hubs will bridge the gap from paddock to labs, with the nodes in regional areas bringing the research to the farmers.

“For the first time in our nation’s history we have all the research and development in agriculture and science and technology on one digital platform, so the world can see exactly what we’re doing.”

“We’ve lost generations of young people out of regional and rural Australia, not everyone can afford to get back out on the land, but they can get into the new jobs the new and exciting jobs of research and development.”

This hub will support communities from Longreach, Roma, Stanthorpe, Narrabri, and Lismore.
