STATE GOVT TO WAIVE LOCAL LAND SERVICES FEES FOR FARMERS THIS YEAR

The State Government will waive all Local Land Services rates for struggling farmers once more this year.

The decision comes as producers continue to deal with crippling drought and bushfire conditions.

Ratepayers in the New England will receive notices in the coming days to advise them of the waiver.

The initiative is one aspect of a $3.9 million drought assistance package, which also covers living pressure costs and the transport of fodder.

$4,000 is expected to be saved on LLS rates in the region alone.
