NEWCASTLE MURAL EMPOWERS THOSE LIVING WITH A DISABILITY

A mural designed to empower those living with a disability, is starting to take shape at Islington.

It’s called ‘Welcome to My World.’

“Really there’s not a lot of difference between people with a disability and without. We all like to do the same things and have the same goals, so the murals a representation of that and it’s really trying to start that conversation around disability and inclusion.” – Ainslie Whitburn, Community Disability Alliance Hunter.

“They don’t have to let their disability stop them from doing something, they can do what they put their heart to.” – Erin Foster.

Partly funded by Newcastle Council, the mural will feature in this year’s Count Us In Festival.
