A man is in critical condition after an assault at Coffs Harbour yesterday.
Shortly after midnight, two men in a light-brown sedan stopped and approached a group of people walking along Prince Street.
The men assaulted a 41-year-old man and punched a 35-year-old man to fell to the ground unconscious.
The two men ran back to their car and drove from the area.
The 35-year-old suffered serious head injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.
The 41-year-old suffered minor injuries and has been released from hospital.
