Polair and the Dog Squad were called in to arrest a man, during an overnight police pursuit at Lake Macquarie.
Officers spotted a stolen Nissan Navara on Bowman Street at Swansea at around 7:30 on Friday evening. It was again spotted on Flowers Drive at Catherine Hill Bay a short time later.
A pursuit was started along the Pacific Highway – the vehicle eventually leaving the road and becoming bogged in bushland at Doyalson.
Police say the driver, a 33-year-old man, attempted to run from the scene before being arrested.
He was charged with a string of offences including driving whilst disqualified, and is due to face Newcastle Local Court later today.
