NORTHERN RIVERS MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY 3D PRINTING GUN PARTS

A Northern Rivers man will front court today, after allegedly using a 3D printer to manufacture firearm parts at a home near Kyogle.

Officers made the discovery while responding to an alleged domestic dispute at the property in Geneva on Tuesday night.

When police arrived they found a 63-year-old woman, who told them a male resident had run away.

The 23-year-old returned home the next morning and was arrested.

During a search of the house, detectives allegedly uncovered a laptop computer which contained blueprints for the manufacture of guns, a 3D-printer, replica parts for a Glock pistol, ammunition and cannabis.

The man was slapped with several charges including; possess digital blueprint for manufacture of firearms, manufacture pistol without licence/permit, common assault (DV), and possess prohibited drug.
