POLICE SEARCH FOR MAN INVOLVED IN PURSUIT

Police are asking the public for help to locate a man who rammed a police vehicle then stole a car at Lake Macquarie this afternoon.

Shortly before 2.30, police initiated a pursuit when the Mercedes failed to stop on Regents Street, Bonnells Bay.

The officers stopped when the driver allegedly rammed their vehicle.

The man then got out of the Mercedes – threatening the driver of a Hilux utility and stealing his car with him inside.

Police including PolAir and the Dog Unit, have now started a search.

Officers are asking anyone who saw the vehicle to contact them.

The 2019 white Toyota Hilux utility has registration EGR36C and ‘CDA Group’ written in green and black on the side.

Police are seeking public assistance to locate 27-year-old Adam Gilham in relation to the incident, who is also wanted on an outstanding warrant.
